Widescreen HDTV / Widescreen DVD issue? - do all blu ray players upconvert
I have a 40 "Philips 1080p HDTV.
I also have a Philips Upconverting DVD player (until I want to buy a PS3) and all my DVDs are widescreen.
My question is if I make a film or TV show on DVD from bars to appear and down repeatedly disappear and reappear again. This does not always happen, but enough, when I see it is pretty boring.
Is there a setting on the TV I change? If the DVD player or TV does not recognize what? Is this done with a Blu-ray as well? Because I resolve this problem, and I believe that an error, the TV, just a sort of configuration menu.

Did you go into the setup menu of the DVD player and put it in widescreen? That was the problem can help. In addition, you will be using component (red / green / blue) cables, which can also help.
